- Ipswich - Central's median rent is $380 a week, $283 below the $663 median across ranked suburbs. At the 2021 Census, 41% of homes were rented and 8% of dwellings were flats or units.
- Kelvin Grove - Herston's median rent is $413 a week, $249 below the $663 median across ranked suburbs. At the 2021 Census, 63% of homes were rented and 56% of dwellings were flats or units.
- Darra - Sumner's median rent is $430 a week, $233 below the $663 median across ranked suburbs. At the 2021 Census, 40% of homes were rented and 1% of dwellings were flats or units.
Caveats
- Riverview and Wacol had fewer than 20 new bonds lodged in the latest quarter, and a median that thin can move by tens of dollars on a handful of leases.
- A median covers every kind of home let, so a suburb of mostly units reads cheaper than one of mostly houses even if like-for-like rents are similar.
